The Best of Regional Designers from Arab Fashion Week 2021

Arab Fashion Week has closed its fall/winter 2021/22 season, broadcasted as a virtual edition in collaboration with Microsoft, exclusively on Instagram and Facebook. Being the only platform in the Middle East that promotes “ready couture,” Arab Fashion Week has grown in popularity since its beginning in 2015, having showcased 26 designers worldwide this season. The virtual shows paid homage to many talented brands from the region, including Ihab Jiryis, Jean Charles Zakaria, and Zaid Farouki among others.
Read on for our selection of the best Arab designers that participated below:
1. NOHMA

Known for being the first architect/designer in the region to create buildable multi-purpose jewelry; Nohma Kaaki presented her latest jewelry line “Celestial Module”, inspired by architectural lines redefined in geometric modular forms.
2. Jean-Charles Zakaria

Lebanese designer Jean Charles Zakaria debuted his collection “Vitality” that included 12 vibrant evening gowns, in a vibrant palette of orange, red, black yellow, and pink. Gowns were crafted in lavish fabrics such as chiffon, silk, and muslin, with the addition of intricate hand embroidery.
3. Euphoria

The Emirati brands capsule collection, “La Dolce Vita” was inspired by the 1960s film directed by Federico Fellini, featuring voluminous shapes in a harmonious neutral color palette, showcased in DIFC.
4.  Zaid Farouki

The rising Jordanian designer, collaborated with BIC; showcasing a fun, bold, and functional collection created to reflect the modern man and women, with a predominately primary color palette of bold red, blue and yellow, based on human expression.
5. Ihab Jiryis

The Palestinian designer known for his exquisite couture gowns, presented “Between Reality and Imagination,” a collection that displayed a contradiction of elements with intricate cutting techniques, offset by detailed embroidery and beadwork.
