This is the Lebanese Jeweler Behind Jennifer Lopez’s AED 7 Million Diamond Wedding Earrings

This is the Lebanese Jeweler Behind Jennifer Lopez’s AED 7 Million Diamond Wedding Earrings

Photo: John Russo via OntheJLo.com
After wearing a gown by Lebanese couturier Zuhair Murad for her first nuptials with Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez tapped another creative from the region for her second wedding. Paired with her three uniquely breathtaking dresses by Ralph Lauren was equally exceptional jewelry, with one pair of earrings created by Lebanese-American designer Samer Halimeh.
Halimeh is a diamond trader by profession, and his namesake New York-based jewelry brand, known for its jaw-dropping pieces, is loved by celebrities like Angelina Jolie, Priyanka Chopra, and now Lopez. For her big wedding ceremony in Georgia, the 53-year-old pop star styled her halter neck dress for the after-party with a pair of brilliant flower drop earrings by the brand. Featuring marquise and pear-cut 27ct diamonds, the bespoke earrings are reportedly worth US $2 million (that’s a little over AED 7 million), and certainly added to the glam factor of Lopez’s Swarovski crystal-embellished gown.

Halimeh was born in Beirut, “during the height of the Lebanese Civil War”, and his passion for diamonds led him to a career in trading, despite coming from a family of medical professionals. “JLo looked ever-stunning and breathtaking on her wedding to Ben Affleck. Congratulations to the beautiful couple,” wrote the designer on Instagram sharing a picture of Lopez wearing the earrings. Samer Halimeh was also the jeweler behind Lopez’s emerald-cut diamond engagement ring, which was given to her by her former partner Alex Rodriguez.
Other pieces of jewelry worn by Lopez for her wedding to Affleck include Mikimoto’s classic white South Sea cultured pearl and diamond drop earrings set in platinum, and a ring with the same diamonds and a central South Sea pearl, which she wore to walk down the aisle. After the ceremony, the singer paired her pearl-laden gown with Mikimoto pearl and diamond studs.

Kim Kardashian Rewore Two Dresses at Once for Kourtney Kardashian’s Italian Wedding

Kim Kardashian Rewore Two Dresses at Once for Kourtney Kardashian’s Italian Wedding

Kim Kardashian is rarely seen in the same look twice, but she pulled a surprisingly sustainable move for Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker’s Italian wedding.
The entire Kardashian-Jenner gang was decked out in Dolce & Gabbana for Kourtney’s lavish Portofino wedding on May 22, which was hosted by the luxury fashion house at their L’Ulivetta villa. In fact, the reality TV star family was dressed in D&G for the entire weekend of pre-nuptial festivities. While the Internet has been flooded with photos of Kourtney’s custom corset minidress and extravagant veil ever since her big day, Kim didn’t share photos in her own lacey D&G gown on Instagram until May 27.
“KRAVIS FOREVER,” Kim wrote on Instagram alongside a series of photos in her head-to-toe lace with a large gold and green statement neckpiece. Her platinum hair was worn in a messy-style bun with loose face-framing strands. What you may not be able to tell from the photos is that her ensemble was actually two dresses in one—and both were dug up from Kim’s own closet.
Photo: Instagram.com/kimkardashian
On Sunday, May 28, Kim shared the “fun fact” about her Kravis wedding look in a series of Instagram Stories. “I know you guys just saw me in my archive on last week’s episode of The Kardashians,” she began, alongside a photo with her daughter, North West. “I have every piece photographed and on the app. So when I knew I was going to Italy (LOVE a theme for a trip) I pulled all my Dolce & Gabbana clothes to try on again and see if I could rewear anything!”
Kim Kardashian ultimately decided on a strapless lace D&G gown that she purchased at Bergdorf Goodman in 2011 and wore to Glamour’s Women of the Year Awards that same year. However, to make the look feel “more modern and more me” for the wedding, Kim wore the garment over a completely sheer lace-gloved dress by Vetements, which she also had in her closet.

Back in 2011, Kim Kardashian took home the award for entrepreneur of the year at the Glamour WOTY event. While that’s hardly a shock considering the SKIMS empire she has gone on to build, what is surprising is that her tweet about the victory only had 74 likes and 254 retweets at the time this article was published.
Simpler times.

Crash Landing on You Star Son Yejin Wore an Elie Saab Bridal Gown for Her Wedding to Hyun Bin

Son Yejin and Hyun Bin have tied the knot today, as confirmed by the agencies of the Korean stars. The couple, known for playing each other’s love interest in the hit show Crash Landing on You, got married on March 31 in a private ceremony held in Aston House, Grand Walkerhill Hotel, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul.
The official announcement was made by Bin’s management, Vast Entertainment, via two photos of the couple, wearing different outfits in each. In one, Yejin can be seen wearing a gown picked from the Spring 2022 Bridal collection of Elie Saab, the Lebanese designer known for his dreamy pieces. This particular one from the couturier features a sleeveless, fully embellished bodice, lightly cinched at the waist with a delicate belt, and a puffy tulle skirt embroidered with a spattering of petals. Wearing minimal makeup, Yejin’s hair is tied back in an elegant low bun, with a few loose curls framing her face. The photo also sees Bin standing next to the smiling bride, holding her hand, and wearing a silk Tom Ford suit with a cream-colored blazer, black pants, cummerbund, and a bowtie.

For those who have kept up with the couple’s on-screen-turned-off-screen relationship, the selection of the princess-style wedding dress must come as no surprise, especially given Yejin’s announcement of their engagement. Posted on February 10, the actor’s confirmation of the happy news described their relationship as a fairytale-like story. “Boy meets girl, recognizes each other in the crowd, promises to build a future together…” read the post. “It happened so naturally… But, isn’t that destiny?”
Photo: Instagram.com/vast.ent
In the second, more formal, picture, the couple stand against a backdrop of pink and white roses, once again holding hands and wearing matching white ensembles. This time going for a modern design, Yejin is wearing the Camellia wedding dress from Vera Wang‘s Bridal Spring 2022 collection. While the top features a one-shoulder corseted bodice with wrappings of tulle, the skirt also comes with a delicate layer of the same fabric on top of lace. For this look, the bride swapped the bun for a half-up-half-down hairstyle adorned with a floral band.

Karen Wazen and Lojain Omran Make a Case for Bright Colors and Feathers at Kris Fade’s Wedding

Karen Wazen and Lojain Omran Make a Case for Bright Colors and Feathers at Kris Fade’s Wedding

What do you wear to a spring wedding at an outdoor venue? Karen Wazen and Lojain Omran may just have the perfect answer. The two attended the nuptials of Lebanese radio host Kris Fade earlier this week in Dubai, and served covetable wedding guest style at the same time.
Wazen and Elias Bakhazi. Photo: Instagram.com
Showing love to one of the season’s sought-after colors, Wazen was dressed in a lime green number from Taller Marmo—the Dubai-based brand known for its breezy kaftans and feather-trimmed pieces. This particular crepe dress worn by the mother-of-three featured a one-shoulder neckline and came with feathers that lined its kaftan-style bat sleeve all the way down to the floor-grazing hem. Allowing the electric-hued piece to be the star of her outfit, the entrepreneur chose to go without any accessories, but did bring in a little drama to her look with a smoky eye. Her hair too complemented the dress, and was worn down in romantic beachy waves, parted in the middle. Wazen was joined by husband Elias Bakhazi, who put a sweet spin on couple’s dressing by opting for a pair of sunglasses from his wife’s eyewear brand to go with his navy blue suit.

Feathers were favored by Omran as well, who also wore a dress in another one of the season’s much-loved shades. The Saudi presenter’s look for the weddings featured a hot pink form-fitted dress, with sleeves adorned with layers and layers of fine feathers. While her makeup for the evening matched her dress with the help of a bright pink lip, the rest of her ensemble leaned towards color-blocking and included a dark green handbag and dazzling jewelry with emeralds.
As summer weddings in Dubai start filling up calendars, you may want to bookmark these two ways of wearing saturated-hued and feather-trimmed dresses.

Mona Kattan Wore Two Beautiful White Gowns for Her Wedding to Hassan Elamin

Mona Kattan Wore Two Beautiful White Gowns for Her Wedding to Hassan Elamin

It’s official, Mona Kattan is now married to Hassan Elamin. The happy couple tied the knot on a special date, February 22, 2022, after getting engaged in December 2021. The beautiful and intimate ceremony attended by some of the Kayali co-founder’s close friends, and sister Huda Kattan, took place at the opulent Raffles the Palm, Dubai.
Photo: Instagram.com/monakattan
Ahead of the wedding, the Iraqi-American beauty mogul couldn’t help but share her excitement with her Instagram followers, and started the day off with a quote by Polish-American pianist Arthur Rubinstein that resonated with her. “I have found that if you love life, life will love you back,” read the words inside a pink heart.

Dressed in a lavender silk lounge set and a delicate choker, the bride-to-be offered glimpses of the preparations—from decor including flowers in a heart shape in her room, to various congratulatory treats such as a tiered tray of white and gold cake, donuts, and macarons, and a pyramid of chocolate popcorn. As for her wedding cake, it kept with the white color theme of the ceremony and featured three tiers with lace detail embossed fondant, and a topper that showed the groom carrying the new bride in his arms.
Photo: Instagram.com/monakattan
Kattan brought in her friend and Dubai-based makeup artist Hindash for her wedding look: a soft glam with golden smoky eyes, and a nude pink lip. After only teasing her wedding dress, Kattan finally revealed the gown, which was a one-of-a-kind piece from Vera Wang, selected from luxury bridal boutique Esposa Privé. Kattan looked every bit the glowing bride in the off-shoulder number, which featured a fishtail silhouette and a floor-grazing hem. The long train made of tulle and adorned with pearls was attached with a glittering tiara on her head, which matched her necklace and chandelier earrings.
Photo: Instagram.com/monakattan
Given that she had six wedding dresses to choose from, Kattan slipped into another bespoke white number by Esposa Couture for the katb ketab ceremony. This one too was a figure-hugging dress with an off-shoulder neckline, but was made entirely of lace, and came with embellishment along its waistline. At the end of the night, the couple was seen joining guests for dinner—welcomed with cheers and sparklers—and were entertained by UAE band Noon, led by musician Abri.

Jennifer Gates Wore Vera Wang Haute for Her Wedding to Egyptian Equestrian Nayel Nassar

Jennifer Gates Wore Vera Wang Haute for Her Wedding to Egyptian Equestrian Nayel Nassar

Photo: Allan Zepeda via Instagram/@nayelnassar
Jennifer Gates and Nayel Nassar met on the equestrian circuit and quickly became friends. Both Stanford graduates, they competed together internationally until Jenn started medical school in 2019. Their friendship eventually turned into something more, and they got engaged in January of 2020 when Nayel proposed to Jenn on her favorite ski run.
Jenn, the daughter of Bill Gates and Melinda French Gates, is now a third year MD candidate at the Icahn School of Medicine Mount Sinai. Before pursuing her path in medicine, Jenn was an internationally ranked equestrian athlete. She is also the founder of Evergate Stables, which is now co-managed by the couple.
Nayel was born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Kuwait by his Egyptian parents, Iman Harby and Fouad Nassar, founders and managers of Diwan Interiors International. He is currently ranked 44th in the world as a show jumping rider and competed in his first Olympic Games in Tokyo this past summer for Team Egypt. Nayel also recently developed and launched Jumpr, a new app for show jumping results and statistics.
Photo: Instagram/@allanzepedaphoto
The couple’s wedding took place this past weekend at their farm in Westchester County, New York. They worked with Marcy Blum Events to plan everything, while Rishi Patel of HMR Designs did all of the florals. They also relied on creative support and styling from Laura Lovett and Priscilla Poelmans. “Planning a wedding while I was in medical school rotations and Nayel was preparing for the Olympics was no small feat,” Jenn admits. “But it was so worth it to share such a special day with those closest to us. We feel so grateful for everyone involved who kept us on track and helped make our vision come to life. One piece of advice we were given [throughout the planning process] was to remember that this day is about us and our love. I think we really kept that at the center of our minds while planning, and we also tried to ensure that our families and friends were able to enjoy themselves.”
While the couple obviously wanted to be able to celebrate with their close friends and family, they wanted to ensure the event would be safe. “Which is why we made the decision that all guests must be fully vaccinated and receive a negative test result prior to the wedding,” Jenn says. “We also made masks available. We feel incredibly fortunate to be able to gather with our loved ones safely. We know others aren’t as lucky, especially as the pandemic continues to devastate communities in the United States and around the world.”
The wedding weekend began with a Katb el Kitab, or the Islamic marriage ceremony, on Friday with just Jenn and Nayel’s immediate families present. “Our main ceremony took place on Saturday,” Jenn says. “It was a beautiful fall day, and we had just finished taking photos when the rain started. The ceremony was facilitated by a longtime family friend, and we both wrote our own vows. It was a really special and intimate moment.”
Photo: Allan Zepeda via Instagram/@jenniferkgates
The bride wore a custom ivory long-sleeve A-line Vera Wang Haute gown with hand appliqué French macrame lace on the bodice, sleeves, and flowing onto a light ivory and champagne Italian tulle skirt to walk down the aisle—which was lined with white hybrid Dutch delphinium flowers—for the outdoor ceremony on Saturday. A light ivory Italian tulle chapel length veil trimmed in hand-appliqué French macrame lace complemented the dress. “Vera and her whole team were so wonderful to work with, and made my dream dress come true,” Jenn says. “She is an icon in the fashion industry and a trailblazer as a woman who changed careers late and followed her passions. From our first meeting, I knew that I was in such good hands.” The groom looked dapper in a classic Armani tux with a Lily of the Valley boutonniere—to match the bride’s bouquet—pinned to his lapel.
After the service, guests moved into the tent for the reception. For this portion of the evening, Jenn changed into a second gown by Vera Wang Haute, this one with a square neckline, lined in nude tulle and embellished with hand appliqué French macrame lace on the skirt and straps.
The newlyweds kicked off the festivities with a first dance to “Yellow Lights,” which was written and performed by their friend and artist Harry Hudson. “After such a meaningful ceremony, we wanted our friends and family to enjoy great food and entertainment,” Jenn says. “It was a beautiful evening and a dream come true for both of us!” Dinner was by Jean Georges and Creative Edge Catering and the six layer floral-adorned cake was a Sylvia Weinstock for Ladurée creation.
Photo:Allan Zepeda via Instagram/@marcyblum
“It’s been a challenging year, both collectively with the pandemic and for our families going through transitions,” Jenn says. “But our love for one another has been a constant. Being able to celebrate our wedding with our closest friends and family was a dream come true.”
