Last night, the third edition of the Vogue Ball of Arabia celebrated the divas and the Golden Age of Arab entertainment, and so, the dress code called for sparkle and shine, all things 80s, and of course, Arab designers. Stars, models, and creatives served up just that as they came together at Dubai’s Jumeirah Mina A’Salam for an evening of entertainment, fashion, and to honor the careers of three iconic women: Egyptian actor Nabila Ebeed, Tunisian singer Latifa, and Lebanese model and Miss Universe Georgina Rizk.
Shimmering numbers were a favorite, with Dorra Zarrouk stunning in a purple Rami Kadi dress, Rym Saidi opting for a bold white Khaled & Marwan creation, and Ameni Esseibi championing Tunisian couturier Ali Karoui. Metallics too were a hit, as Rawdah Mohamed arrived in a head-to-toe gold gown by Nicolas Jebran, while Amira Al Zuhair represented her home country Saudi with a green Elie Saab dress, and Enjy Kiwan wore a bronze halter neck piece by Jean Louis Sabaji. Egyptian actor Amina Khalil embraced the trend with a color-shifting off-shoulder Rami Kadi gown paired with Bulgari jewelry.
Despite their pre-event chat, co-hosts of the night Jessica Kahawaty and Abla Fahita ended up arriving at the Ball in identical Goerges Hobeika looks, which brought together white crystals and feathers on a Cher-inspired jumpsuit. The star performer of the spectacular evening, Leona Lewis joined the party wearing not one but two remarkable looks by Arab designers: a purple gown by Syrian couturier Rami Al Ali, and a black voluminous gown by Bahraini brand Monsoori.
