Lindsay Lohan is officially a mom! Earlier this week, the actor gave birth to her first child—a baby boy named Luai—with husband Bader Shammas. Just days before welcoming their first child, however, Vogue caught a few moments with Lohan to discuss all things motherhood and maternity style. Her rotation includes Crocs, the ugly-chic shoe that’s been trending this year. Despite being an obviously comfortable shoe choice, her love of the rubber footwear may have to do with the fact that the star is the face of a new MCM x Crocs collaboration, officially unveiled today.
For spring 2023, the fashion brand MCM collaborated with Crocs on a line of its Mega Crush Clogs. The two platform styles—in black and gold, or white and silver—are now available. They come with a mini-belt bag that can be attached and detached to the extremely chunky silhouette. “I love the little pouch that attaches, because you can also put it on other parts of your wardrobe, or on your purse,” says Lohan of the design. “And for me, it can fit a pacifier!”
Vogue chatted with Lohan below about the clothing and shoes she wore throughout her pregnancy, her new fashion campaign, her weirdest pregnancy cravings (hint: It involves Gatorade), as well as what she’s looking forward to as she enters motherhood.
Vogue: Congrats on the new campaign! What drew you to being a part of this collaboration?
Lindsay Lohan: I was honored when asked. The new MCM x Crocs Mega Crush is playful and chic. The shoe combines style, versatility, and comfort—all important to me when choosing the perfect accessory. It was an extra special touch to shoot here in Dubai, the place that I call home.

Crocs are having a huge moment in fashion. Are you a fan? Why is everyone embracing them?
People are obsessed with Crocs right now because everybody is looking for comfort. It’s fashion and comfort combined.
Are Crocs in your summer shoe closet? What have you been wearing?
My summer shoe closet is Chanel ballet flats and sandals. And Alaïa. I love Alaīa’s sandals—they last forever, and they’re so comfortable. I also tend to live in all of the rubber Valentino flats. I’m in flats this whole summer!
What about clothing-wise? What have been some of your summer go-tos?
Clothing-wise, I always love white linens and white, flowy, Grecian-looking dresses for summer. Comfort is always key, especially in Dubai—it’s warmer here. This summer, it’s been dresses all summer. My friend, Margherita Missoni, sent me some really cute, stretchy Maccapani pieces. On my birthday, I also wore this really cute, stretchy, Self-Portrait multicolor sorbet dress. Also, oversized T-shirts have been my go-to pieces.
Has your style changed a lot during your pregnancy?
For my maternity style, I’ve been wearing similar things; Everything I would normally wear, I’ll just get the bigger sizes. I’ll get something from The Row, but I’ll get it oversized. Or a T-shirt from the Frankie Shop, but oversized. Because I still feel like me—just with a growing belly!
Have you found any items that strike the right balance between comfort and style?
I love a good oversized button-down work shirt. T-shirts with some cute ripped jeans or jean shorts. And a nice, long maxi dress. You could even do a cute Zara dress with cute Valentino flats, and a great purse.
Is there anything you haven’t been able to wear during your pregnancy that you’re looking forward to rocking?
I haven’t really worn anything short. Post-birth, maybe I’ll be able to wear some more fitted, structured pieces. That will be fun to get into again—to get back into the more fun fashion game. Some corseted pieces. I also haven’t been able to go to fashion week in a long time—Paris or Milan Fashion Week—so just to wear designer pieces again will be really exciting. I have not been able to wear my Alaïa dresses this summer, which I usually live in.
Did you have any weird pregnancy cravings during your pregnancy?
I never used to drink Gatorade, but being pregnant, I craved Gatorade. That’s been a weird craving. I’ve also craved different teas that I haven’t had forever, or a cup of cold milk randomly. I’m not a big junk food eater, but I would randomly get a craving for strawberry Poptarts. And beets! I would crave beets all the time. I would have a lot of chicken and beets.
What are you looking forward to the most about motherhood?
I look forward to building a family with my husband, and experiencing my life as a mom. And sharing our worlds with this beautiful new person. It’s a really exciting time. I’m feeling really grateful, blessed, and excited.

Lindsay Lohan Just Gave Grandma Shoes a Refresh With Two Easy Outfits

Lindsay Lohan Just Gave Grandma Shoes a Refresh With Two Easy Outfits

Photo: Instagram.com
When you think of a cool shoe, do you think of a ballet flat pump? We didn’t think so.  Low-heeled pumps are reserved for octogenarians going to church or lunch on Madison Avenue. But allow Lindsay Lohan to change your mind! The actor was spotted in New York this week giving the grandma shoe a brand new feel.
On two separate occasions this week, Lohan was spotted wearing Salvatore Ferragamo’s black Viva pumps, which retail for $850 (AED 3,122) and have a large bow on the toe. They’re a decidedly prim-and-proper shoe, but Lohan made them feel a little more modern and casual. For a Broadway outing this past weekend, she first wore them with a white summer dress complete with fringe and laser-cut detailing, finishing off the ensemble with a luxe Hermès bag (in its signature orange hue). Yesterday, she then paired them with a black lace mini dress for a more monochromatic feel, as well as black shades and a cream Hermès bag.

Lohan isn’t the only star to make them feel fresh. A few years ago, Zoe Kravitz put a cool twist on a pointy kitten heels when she styled them with neon green pants; More recently, Chloë Sevigny embraced the low-heel pump via Margiela’s Tabi shoes, their split-toe detail making it feel instantly hip and downtown-worthy. So, it’s official: Don’t discount the low heel. They’re a versatile piece that can be paired with everything from dresses to jeans. And they’re way more comfy than hobbling around in stilettos!

Lindsay Lohan on Her Iconic Mean Girls Role: “I Wanted To Play Regina George”

Lindsay Lohan on Her Iconic Mean Girls Role: “I Wanted To Play Regina George”

“Why am I wearing flip-flops and a scarf?” This is what Lindsay Lohan ponders as she looks back at a casual outfit she wore back in 2002, when she attended the Neil Bogart Memorial Fund’s Annual Tour for a Cure in a blue Juicy Couture sweatsuit. The actor may be unsure of this particular look now, but over the course of over two decades in the business, Lohan has had many fashion wins, too. In a new video, she sat down with Vogue to relive some of best style moments on and off the big screen.
Lohan begins her fashion flashback by taking in a blue Nicole Miller dress she wore to the 1998 premiere of The Parent Trap, her first feature film that she starred in when she was 11. “My mom still has this dress. She kept it for me at home,” says Lohan. “As a young girl, I was always really into fashion.” Playing dress up on the red carpet is something Lohan only took to the next level during her career. Another personal favorite of hers was in 2006, when she wore a vintage Versace gown to the Vanity Fair Oscars party. “They stitched the dress onto me, because it was so delicate and dainty,” says Lohan. “I loved the Old Hollywood glamour.”
It wouldn’t be a true Life in Looks video if Lohan didn’t explore some of her best ensembles worn in her films as well. She remembers rocking the baggy pants and chunky highlights in 2003’s Freaky Friday. “I was really rocking the Avril Lavigne vibe, because that was my character, and I really took it into my daily life,” she says. The bold, Y2K pieces she wore in 2004’s Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen were equally memorable. “This was when I was like, ‘Please dress me like Britney Spears.’ It was that whole era of Britney.” And who could forget her transformation into one of the pink-wearing Plastics in 2004’s Mean Girls? “I wanted to play Regina,” Lohan reveals. “I had just come off of Freaky Friday, and I really wanted to play a pretty, normal girl. I [didn’t want] to be the damaged teenager again!”
As for more recent fashion memories for Lohan? She reminisced on attending the fall 2010 Chanel show with the late designer Karl Lagerfeld by her side. “If there’s someone I really miss, it’s Karl Lagerfeld,” she says. “Whenever I was in Paris, Karl was like a father to me—he really took me under his wing.” She also attended Saint Laurent’s show with her brother, Dakota, in 2019. “My brother and I had the best time,” says Lohan. “My family is so important to me, so anytime I have an opportunity to involve my sister, brother, and my mom in anything that I do, I always jump at that.”
As for what’s next for the star, you can catch Lohan in her new Netflix movie, Falling for Christmas, later this year. “I had so much fun doing this, because I had a newfound appreciation for it after not filming for so long,” says Lohan. “I was really excited to be there. We filmed it in five and a half weeks; You can make movies so fast now!”
