Gigi Hadid to Sharon Stone: The Best Dressed Celebrities at the 2023 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

Gigi Hadid to Sharon Stone: The Best Dressed Celebrities at the 2023 Vanity Fair Oscar Party

There is nothing like the 2023 Vanity Fair Oscar party, which brings out all the nominees and winners (once the Academy Awards are over), and everyone from the world of TV, politics, news, fashion, and more. If there’s any party where you’re all but guaranteed to see the cast of The White Lotus and Bridgerton mingling with Serena Williams and Monica Lewinsky, this is it.
The Vanity Fair Oscar party is also a chance for the stars to take big fashion risks as opposed to the Oscars red carpet, which typically is a bit more conservative. Think of it as a precursor to Vogue‘s Met Gala in May, and you understand why everyone can’t wait to see who’s wearing what and who’s arriving with whom.
It’s also a chance to debut new hairstyles, makeup looks, and more. And since the Vanity Fair red carpet starts in the afternoon and goes late into the evening (we’re talking midnight and beyond), we’ll be updating all the looks well into the wee hours of the morning.

At the 45th annual Kennedy Center Honors, actor George Clooney is being honored for his contributions to American culture alongside singers Gladys Knight, Tania León, Bono, and Amy Grant. For the special occasion, both George and Amal Clooney showed up to the White House in style. George wore a classic black tuxedo and bowtie while receiving his medal, while Amal chose an off-the-shoulder silver gown that was encrusted with crystals.

It wasn’t the only gown that Amal slipped into for the event. Just last night, the Clooneys attended a special pre-dinner in honor of the Kennedy Center Honors, and Amal chose yet another striking dress for it—this time in an attention-grabbing red. The human rights lawyer sported Valentino’s off the shoulder column gown from the spring 2022 couture collection, complete with a long sweeping train. She accessorized the statement look with a matching red box clutch. George, meanwhile, complemented her Old Hollywood frock with another sleek black suit. When it comes to style, this couple is always in perfect sync.

After giving us a series of noteworthy films over her career—from Fools Rush In (1997) and Frida (2002) to Once Upon a Time in Mexico (2003) and Eternals (2021), Salma Hayek Pinault has been honored with her very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Los Angeles. The 55-year-old star, who comes from Lebanese and Mexican roots, unveiled her name on Friday, November 19, and was joined by Grown Ups co-star Adam Sandler, director Chloé Zhao and the mayor of Los Angeles, Eric Garcetti.

For her special afternoon, Hayek Pinault stepped out in a not-so-basic LBD, proving that classics can be revamped for just about any occasion. The star opted for a custom-made ebony creation by Alexander McQueen which came with a corset-style bodice and parachute skirt. The midi was layered with a cropped jacket featuring crystal raindrop embroidery, which matched the embellishment on her dress. To complete her ensemble, Salma Hayek Pinault went with another classic—black pumps. The actor’s glossy ombré locks were styled in romantic waves, and her beauty look was completed with a soft smoky eye and cherry lips.
For Hayek Pinault, receiving a Hollywood star wasn’t just a moment of deep honor, but also a chance for her to share her experiences within the industry with fans. The actor opened up about facing racism, recalling a time when a studio asked her, “Why don’t you go back to the (Mexican) telenovelas? You’ll never find a job here.” At the time, the actor remembers also telling herself, “Nobody wants me here. They want me in my country.” Today, however, her advice is one to remember: “Try to be better. Try to find the joy in what you do. Work hard. Prepare. Don’t care what anybody says. But most importantly, don’t listen to yourself when you bring yourself down.”
Currently celebrating the success of Eternals, Salma Hayek Pinault will next be seen in House of Gucci, which also stars Lady Gaga, Adam Driver and Jared Leto.

The luxury ready-to-wear designer’s dress can be seen on the official poster of the star’s highly-anticipated feature film. Titled If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power, the movie explores the themes of pregnancy and childbirth, marking award-winning singer Halsey’s debut as a scriptwriter and lead actor. Set to release at select cinemas on August 3, it also features music from her forthcoming album of the same name.

Sulaiman’s Moiré dress, from the designer’s debut collection, was selected for the feature film by LA-based celebrity stylist and image architect, Law Roach. “This dress has always been an extremely special piece for me because it represented that moment when I could share my baby’s arrival with the world,” said Sulaiman. “To have it selected by Law Roach and have it worn by Halsey, at a time she was pregnant, for her first-ever feature film which explores the theme of childbirth, is a real privilege.” She continued, “It is an honor to have a piece from my debut collection selected for this opportunity, and to be able to represent Saudi fashion on a global scale.”

The dress, crafted from ivory moiré fabric, is emblematic of Sulaiman’s affinity for blending classical, quintessential feminine cuts with artful, architectural details. Featuring a clean, A-line silhouette accentuated by an off-shoulder neckline and cascading Russian tulle sleeves, Sulaiman had initially designed the Moiré dress to wear to her own baby’s reception. However, due to popular demand, she decided to include the piece within her debut collection. The dress has been featured alongside the designs of international fashion heavyweights such as Vivienne Westwood within the movie.
