When an accessory receives Rihanna’s seal of approval, we all sit up and take note. Amina Muaddi’s Ursina pumps are one such product. Rihanna knows a great heel when she sees one, and she’s rarely parted from her Ursinas.
Amina Muaddi’s point-toe pumps are an easy sell for any footwear fanatic. Although they don’t bear the brand’s instantly-recognizable hourglass heel, they come with a razor-sharp stiletto.
The Ursinas have been a permanent fixture in Rihanna’s wardrobe for some time. It was Muaddi’s heels that she turned to for her pregnancy announcement portraits. Barely visible beneath her baggy Vetements jeans, Rihanna wore the stiletto pumps in a deep Bordeaux hue, with a diamanté strap buckled around her ankle. Comfort to Rihanna is a heel she can rely upon for the most important occasions. The fact that she’s worn them on repeat, even in her final trimester, is proof that she holds them dear.

More Muaddi highlights from Rihanna include the look she wore to the latest Gucci show: a patent crop top, trousers sitting beneath her growing belly, a chainmail headpiece and pink pixelated snakeskin Ursinas with a citrine-adorned ankle strap. Testament to the shoe’s versatility, she wore them again for an outing in LA with a terry Bottega bralette, pastel Vetements jeans and an R13 workwear jacket.

The pristine white and camo satin colourways are other favorites. Rihanna sported the former at her Savage X Fenty Vol. 3 show, and the latter on multiple night outs, often with one of her many head-turning miniskirts.

Models Anok Yai and Hailey Bieber have fallen for Amina Muaddi’s Ursina heels, too. Like Rihanna, Hailey has worn hers with bare legs to show off their full potential. Anok, meanwhile, wore hers with a scene-stealing LBD to the Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar Party last month.

Take their word for it, Amina Muaddi’s Ursina pumps are an investment worth your while.

While Megan Fox’s looks have been making headlines with her recent appearances, flying under the radar is her newfound love for a regional designer. On many occasions now, the actor has been spotted completing her bold looks with heels from Lebanese shoemaker Andrea Wazen‘s eponymous label.
This week, the Transformers star was spotted donning the black Denver heel by the Beirut-based brand, paired with a faux-leather cropped blazer, and boyfriend jeans. Speaking to Vogue Arabia previously, designer Wazen revealed that the Denver heel might seem simple, but is complicated to make. “You see fabric and tulle, but it takes hours of work,” she said.

At the Revolve Gallery event in New York City, the 35-year-old sported a pair of Andrea Wazen’s Dassy Sunset PVC pumps, elevating her look with its golden straps. Clear pumps with a pop of color have become popular amongst celebrities, and Fox joined in on the trend with her own take. In a mirror selfie posted to her Instagram, she was seen in a green cropped jacket and mini skirt co-ord, with a pair of transparent pumps with green straps from the brand.

The Lebanese shoe designer believes that comfort must precede glamour and identity. “This is why I decided to use fabrics instead of leather. Soft and flexible textiles are so much more lightweight,” she says. This is just one of the attributes that have lead stars including Beyoncé, Dua Lipa, Khloe Kardashian, Lucy Hale, Kylie Jenner, and Hailey Bieber to step out in Wazen’s creations.
After working at Rupert Sanderson and Christian Louboutin, and honing her craft at Paris’s Istituto Marangoni, and Central Saint Martins in London, the Beirut-raised designer decided to launch her eponymous brand. Coming from a family of architects, Wazen has always had an eye for symmetry and design instilled in her DNA.
