Mona Zaki never disappoints when it comes to her red carpet ensembles. Take a quick look through the star’s Style Evolution, and you’ll agree that whether Zaki poses for the camera in bold golds, dreamy pinks, or classic blacks, she always knows how to ensure all eyes are on her. And this weekend’s Joy Awards were no exception.
For the annual celebration, which took place in Riyadh, Mona Zaki walked in wearing a statement-making number by none other than Tunisian favorite Alaïa. This time around, it was a bold tangerine gown that won the actor’s vote. take a closer look at it below.

Mona Zaki’s gown was also recently worn by Huda Kattan
Featuring full sleeves and a slouchy turtleneck, Mona Zaki’s Alaïa gown was full of interesting details. Comprising a nude-tone bodycon and semi-sheer orange layer, the gown created a risqué effect, and also came with layers of feathers towards the bottom that instantly added volume to the look. With so many strong elements in one ensemble, the star opted for classic accessories in shades of gold so as not to take away from her clothing. Zaki’s picked included the Bulgari Serpenti watch, matching earrings, and a gold clutch. Sweeping her deep brown locks into a sleek updo, Mona Zaki completed her look with sultry smoky eyes, glossy nude lips, and a neutral manicure.
As it turns out, however, Mona Zaki isn’t the only Arab power player to have given this vibrant Alaïa gown her seal of approval. Back in October 2022, the very same gown was also seen on beauty entrepreneur Huda Kattan, who chose the look for the Fashion Trust Arabia Awards in Doha, where she was given the Entrepreneur of the Year award.

While gold details won Mona Zaki’s vote at the Joy Awards, Kattan styled the same dress differently on her night out, opting for a crystal studded circular clutch, along with diamond earrings and rings. Though both women went with updos with the outfit, Kattan’s veered closer towards a wet look for some added drama. Take a closer look below.

Each day, Cannes Film Festival gives fashion enthusiasts a new red carpet look to decode, and one of the most exciting ensembles seen in the past 24 hours has got to be that of Sara Sampaio’s. In case you missed it, the Portuguese model is currently in France, spending her time by the French Riviera enjoying the very best of the annual festival. Last night, Sampaio walked the red carpet in a striking Zuhair Murad gown that stood out for all the right reasons. Check out her ruby red look below.

Sara Sampaio’s red Zuhair Murad gown featured a thigh-high slit
Crafted in a rich shade of cherry red, Sara Sampaio’s Zuhair Murad gown was one for the books. For her evening at Cannes Film Festival, the Lebanese designer dressed the model in a strapless number that came with a fitted bodice and flowing skirt, complete with a risqué thigh-high slit. Adding more drama to Sampaio’s outfit was its cascading cape, which billowed out behind her as she walked.

Keeping with the palette of her stunning ensemble, the model opted for red velvet heels by Jimmy Choo, and completed her Pretty Woman-esque look with a sparkling diamond neckpiece and elegant earrings by Messika.

To add a romantic touch to her all-red outfit, Sara Sampaio had her deep brown locks pulled back from her face with braids, and opted for a fresh, natural makeup look. If you’ve got a big celebration on the cards and love to make a statement, a bold red number like hers is just the ticket.

Kate Middleton and Prince William have touched down at the U.K. premiere of Top Gun: Maverick.
On May 19, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended a screening of the Top Gun sequel starring Tom Cruise at Leicester Square in London, England. Middleton walked the red carpet wearing a black-and-white off-shoulder gown by Roland Mouret that was perfectly complemented by her husband’s classic black tuxedo. The Duchess kept her neck bare and her loose, straight hair away from her face to showcase a par of dainty starburst diamond earrings.
While Prince William kept his look relatively simple, he snuck in one nod to the Top Gun franchise on his velvet shoes, which featured a jet plane design. Prince William previously served as a pilot in the Royal Air Force, as did his brother, Prince Harry.
The film’s star, Tom Cruise, reportedly feels he has “a lot in common” with the Duke of Sussex. “We both love England and we’re both aviators, we both love flying,” Cruise said on the red carpet, per My London.

Though the Duke and Duchess were each other’s dates to the event, it was Cruise who lent a hand to Middleton as she ascended a flight of stairs.

According to reports, this isn’t the first time Prince William and Kate Middleton have viewed the sequel to the 1986 classic film about a band of elite fighter pilots. In the 2022 sequel, Maverick (Cruise) makes his return to the Top Gun Naval Fighter Weapons School to shepherd a new group of airmen, including the son of his late best friend, Goose (Anthony Edwards), played by Teller. Cruise had reportedly invited the couple to an even more private screening in March after hearing Prince William was a fan of the original film.
Top Gun: Maverick hits theaters on May 24, 2022.

Karen Wazen Spends an Evening in Doha Wearing a Regal Red Kaftan-Style Gown

Karen Wazen Spends an Evening in Doha Wearing a Regal Red Kaftan-Style Gown

If there’s one thing we can say for sure about Karen Wazen‘s sartorial aesthetic, it’s that she loves a pop of color. Over the past few months, the Lebanese influencer and entrepreneur has been spotted in a spectrum of vibrant hues, from acid blue and emerald green to canary yellow. And yesterday, it was time for Wazen to give striking scarlet a little love.
Seen enjoying an evening out in Doha, Qatar, Karen Wazen made a case for traffic-stopping reds in a crinkled silk-chiffon gown by Egyptian fashion house SemSem. The billowing ensemble created the illusion of a formal kaftan, and came with two floor-length sleeves that fluttered behind her as she walked. Take a closer look below.

Did you miss the Swarovski detailing on Karen Wazen’s red gown?
Adding just the right amount of sparkle to Karen Wazen’s look from Doha were the delicate Swarovski buttons that dotted the front of her SemSem gown. Instead of pairing her kaftan-inspired look with matching accessories, the 35-year-old opted for a champagne gold and pink handbag from her sister Andrea Wazen’s label for the night out. A classic diamond ring was among her only accessories. As for her beauty look, Wazen painted a sultry picture on Instagram with artfully disheveled ombré waves, and natural makeup that drew attention to her doe eyes.

Red Carpets to Runways: All the Gold Dresses You Need To Check Out Before the Ball of Arabia

Red Carpets to Runways: All the Gold Dresses You Need To Check Out Before the Ball of Arabia

Photo: Instagram.com
This December, Vogue Arabia lights up the city of Dubai with its second edition of the Ball of Arabia. Falling on the same month as the nation’s 50th National Day, the gala is all set to pay homage to the UAE and its rich history with an all-gold theme. Co-chaired by Ingie Chalhoub, Huda and Mona Kattan, Mona Zaki and Zuhair Murad, the evening will also see our guest list walking in wearing a line-up of stunning gold ensembles by Arab’s favorite designers. Because after all, in a world where it only takes one dress to impress, what better way to own the crowd than with a timeless piece that is alluring enough so as to not need any accessories?

‘The Golden Dress’ made its way through the most iconic moments in history, starting from the Marilyn Monroe’s iconic sunburst pleated gold lamé halter neck gown, and moving on to Elizabeth Taylor in a golden gown draped with the rich history of the Egyptian Queen Cleopatra, (a role Taylor played in 1963), and of course, Cher at the 55th Academy Awards, who stunned in an eye-catching white and gold, wholly sheer gown. Over the years, the iconic golden dress has also been reinvented by the likes of Nicole Kidman, Anne Hathaway, Gigi Hadid and many more on numerous red carpets around the world.

More recently, a memorable moment came via Milan Fashion Week 2018, where supermodels Carla Bruni, Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, and Helen Christensen took over the Versace show in liquid gold cocktail party dresses, paying tribute to the one and only Gianni Versace.
There no doubt that gold is back in every shape and form, as seen in the FW 2021 couture runway presentations—we saw Schiaparelli’s fully ruffled gold wings, and Valentinos’ short sleeved sequin number, and Zuhair Murad’s embellished creation, all serving major inspiration for the festive season.

Gold doesn’t stop at couture, and has also made its way into the ready-to-wear collections of Alberta Ferretti, who used the look in her FW 2021 collection, elevating it with fringes and embroidered golden pieces as a go-to. Likewise, Michael Kors, Burberry, and Rodarte added gold statement pieces to their lines too. While gold has evidently given life to the most significant moments in fashion, the regal color will continue to reign with its timeless hue on runways and beyond. If you plan on celebrating the Ball of Arabia with us virtually, here’s all the gold dressing inspiration you’ll need!
