Zendaya can nail any style brief. Already this year, she’s captivated viewers with her coolly heartbreaking portrayal of Rue in the second season of Euphoria, all while dressed in Aries, vintage Jean Paul Gaultier and Peels MYC. In Malcolm & Marie, she delivers Old Hollywood glamour in a dazzling custom Aliette gown, chosen by her real-life super-stylist Law Roach. (Her hot-pink dream dress in the new Valentino campaign is yet another fashion moment.)
Law is behind the off-screen looks that have catapulted the starlet onto countless best-dressed lists, thanks to his bold yet elegant approach. She’s frequently seen in Valentino and Balmain, but some occasions call for dressing down. To attend the screening of her boyfriend Tom Holland’s new film, Uncharted, in New York, Law curated a casual look for Zendaya that commanded attention, without being OTT.

Zendaya left the event with Tom – in a sleek grey suit and black roll-neck – by her side, wearing an oversized shirt as a dress with a cinched belted waist, semi-sheer black tights from Wolford and Louboutin pumps. The relaxed shirt had a ‘boyfriend’ fit, with elongated cuffs and a boxy shape. The actor added a lined smoky eye with a subtle feline flick to her bouncy blow dry.
Their looks were in contrast to the more formal –eveningwear the couple chose for premiere of No Way Home in December. All eyes were on Tom and Zendaya in LA: Z paid homage to the movie in a cobwebbed Valentino gown and Tom complemented the chocolate brown of her dress with a silk Prada suit.

Zendaya‘s relationship with Italian luxury fashion house Valentino isn’t new. In fact, avid fans of the American actor will remember that her most recent internet-stopping Valentino look was seen only a few weeks ago—the star attended the LA premiere of Spider-Man: No Way Home in December 2021 with beau Tom Holland dressed in a nude gown covered in intricately embroidered black cobwebs, complete with a bespoke mask.
This week, Zendaya takes her love for all things Valentino a notch further, starring in the brand’s brand new campaign. Titled ‘Rendez Vous’, the Spring 2022 campaign campaign sees the actor in bright, summer-ready looks as she waltzes down the streets of Warner Bros. Studios, LA. While some frames see her strutting in an electric blue blouse, fuchsia cape and purple clutch, a Vogue Arabia exclusive from he campaign, seen above, shows the Euphoria star seemingly floating in a billowing canary yellow coat, paired with matching shorts and a burgundy handbag. Both looks are complemented with mermaid waves, a subtle bronzed-out beauty look, and statement jewelry ranging from a chunky gold chain neckpiece to a pearl-studded multi-finger ring.
Photographed by Michael Bailey Gates, the campaign aims to explore the complex relationship between one personal’s space and social relationships, and reportedly follows Zendaya as she moves from an intimate backstage area to sun-kissed streets where she encounters a community of people. Adding another layer to the project is its soundtrack: ‘Crystalised’ by The XX, the moves for which were choreographed by Creative Movement Director Stephen Galloway. Along with stunning visuals and a catchy beat, the fashion film also includes cameos by Pierpaolo Piccioli and the Zendaya’s much-loved stylist, Law Roach. Check it out below.

If there’s one thing that we all know, it’s that Zendaya never ceases to impress on the red carpet, whether she’s wearing a gown to a premiere or just being her unapologetic self on a day off. This week, the CFDA fashion icon and award-winning actor lived up to our expectations once again at the Euphoria premiere. Zendaya stole the show when she arrived wearing a vintage strapless black and white striped Valentino dress that paid tribute to iconic ’90s supermodel Linda Evangelista. To put it simply, she made red carpet history.

Not too long after, Her Majesty Queen Rania was also seen making a sartorial statement this week. Known for her modest, yet always fashion-forward ensembles, the Queen stepped out in a traditional Jordanian keffiyeh in order to meet the country’s youth on January 11.  Because what better way to show one’s appreciation for their country than by donning its traditional attire with pride?

On the other side of the globe, another lady from the royal family was also seen having her share of fun playing dress up. The Duchess of Cambridge commissioned Alexander McQueen’s Sarah Burton to make three custom ballgowns for her 40th birthday portraits. The pictures captured by Paolo Roversi showed a beaming Kate Middleton painting a picture of elegance in her dreamy McQueen creations.

What better way to wrap up this week’s hottest Instagram posts than with a look back at its biggest fashion launches? The week kicked off with the Yeezy Gap collection engineered by Balenciaga. ICYMI, rapper and designer Kanye West is joining forces with the creative director of Balenciaga (Demna Gvasalia) to work on a special project at Gap that aims “to create utilitarian fashion for all.”

Another exciting venture that caught our eye was the playful Balmain x Barbie collaboration, followed by Rami Kadi‘s upcoming line titled ‘Lucid Algorithms’, which marks the designer’s first human-computer collaboration. Scroll for a closer look at all the action that went down over the past seven days.

We can always bank on the youngest-ever CFDA Fashion Icon to obliterate any rival red carpet moment with the help of her longtime collaborator, Law Roach. On January 5, Zendaya pulled out all the stops while attending the Euphoria premiere, and channeled an iconic ’90s supermodel.

The Emmy-winning actor turned up to the photo call for the highly-anticipated second season of the hit Gen-Z HBO show (it was a low-key affair due to Covid-19 restrictions), and stole the show dressed in vintage Valentino. Zendaya uploaded a series of snaps of Valentino Garavani alongside model Linda Evangelista – who famously wore the dress on the runway in the 1990s – in a strapless black and white dress to her Instagram. The star simultaneously commemorated the iconic outfit while looking the epitome of elegance in the same spring/summer 1992 Valentino ensemble at the premiere. Chandelier earrings and slicked-backed hair tied the look together and kept all eyes on the actor’s stunning gown.

It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time the Spider-man actor has shared a glimpse of her and Law Roach’s vintage-inspired mood board. Whether it’s an archive Roberto Cavalli gown, an ’80s YSL couture moment or a striking Noughties Versace show-stopper, Zendaya knows how to capitalize on the vintage red-carpet renaissance.

Last night, Zendaya outdid herself again. Wearing Valentino’s take on Spider-Man chic at the LA premiere of No Way Home, the actor did the unspeakable and made cobwebs look nothing short of resplendent.

The Vogue cover girl and her “image architect” Law Roach offset her modern Morticia Addams-esque gown with twinkling jewels from Bulgari (she’s an ambassador for the brand) and a bespoke mask that surely would have made Peter Parker reconsider his own morph head gear.
Louboutins, it turns out, are the best accessory to pair with spiderverse slips. Photo: Getty
Speaking of Parker, Roach has also started dressing Tom Holland, who is incidentally the Euphoria actor’s beau. Their couple’s red carpet moments are quietly brilliant, with Zendaya playing the poster girl for comic book couture, and Holland letting her shine. His bespoke Celine and Prada suiting is not, however, to be scoffed at. Note the very specific shade of yesterday’s tailoring–a rich chocolate brown that brought out the color of Zendaya’s glittering gossamer. Long may they stay together.

Zendaya to Become the Youngest Ever Recipient of CFDA’s Fashion Icon Award

Zendaya to Become the Youngest Ever Recipient of CFDA’s Fashion Icon Award

Photo: Instagram/@zendaya
At the age of 25, Zendaya is set to make history as the youngest ever recipient of CFDA’s Fashion Icon award at the CFDA Fashion Awards. On November 10, the Euphoria actor will be presented the award by the Council of Fashion Designers of America, recognizing her impactful sartorial statements over the years. Since rising to fame, Zendaya has served many stunning fashion moments, with a record of supporting both emerging and established designers. With this award, the Dune star will join David Bowie, Beyoncé, Pharrell, Jennifer Lopez, and Rihanna who have previously received the award.
The CFDA also revealed that actor Anya Taylor-Joy will be receiving the first-ever Face of the Year Award. With film and television credits that include The Queen’s Gambit, and One Night in Soho, Taylor-Joy has become the face of modern-day vintage Hollywood beauty, especially since her appearance at this year’s Venice Film Festival.

Photo: Instagram/@anyataylorjoyThe Model Alliance will also be honored for its work to continuously support and advocate the rights of models and garment workers. Founded by American model and labor activist Sara Ziff, the organization is tackling issues including sexual harassment and financial exploitation, while working on recognizing models with equal rights. “Hopefully with this recognition from the CFDA, we’re moving towards a reckoning that models are not just pretty faces—we are workers deserving of rights and protections, and we want to use our visibility to inject a labor consciousness into the industry at large,” Ziff said to Vogue.
The Council of Fashion Designers of America is a non-profit trade association founded in 1962 by publicist Eleanor Lambert. Making a grand return this year after being held on pause by the Covid-19 pandemic, it will award designers like Dapper Dan, Aurora James, and journalists like Nina Garcia for their positive global impact on the fashion industry.

Fashion-wise, Zendaya and Timothée Chalamet have been nailing it during their Dune press tour. The co-stars began promoting the film back in September at the Venice Film Festival, when Zendaya set the internet ablaze in her wet-look Balmain gown (Chalamet, in a velvety black Haider Ackermann look, was sleek by her side). Since then, they’ve only continued their streak: Zendaya wore an ab-bearing Alaïa gown for the movie’s Paris premiere later in September, while Chalamet looked dapper in a blue Tom Ford suit. For the London photo call for the movie this weekend, however, Zendaya and Chalamet really showcased that they know how to execute co-star style by power-clashing.

Styled by Law Roach, Zendaya wore a spring 2020 look from Vivienne Westwood that consisted of a draped, chained top and checkerboard skirt. Chalamet, meanwhile, wore a custom, mushroom-print suit by Stella McCartney, completed by the matching shirt and heeled boots. Two good prints; two very different vibes.
But they worked because they showcased each star’s style so well. Chalamet loves himself a printed suit, while Zendaya has the ability to pluck any runway look and make it feel like she’s wearing it—not the other way around. When combined, these two graphic ensembles made an even bigger impact. The juxtaposition made sure all eyes were on them. It was red carpet clashing done right. Now, we only expect to see much more of this winning fashion energy throughout the rest of the Dune tour.

All the Stars Reviving High-Fashion on the Venice Film Festival Red Carpet

All the Stars Reviving High-Fashion on the Venice Film Festival Red Carpet

The return of the Venice Film Festival as we know it called for looks that go beyond the usual red carpet glamour, and stars are delivering just that. After the event’s 77th edition in 2020 taking place in a more restrained format, this year, actors are seemingly back with a sartorial vengeance.
Generating buzz with her appearance was Zendaya, who made her Venice Film Festival debut this year. For the premiere of her film Dune, the newly-minted 25-year-old walked the red carpet in a custom Balmain couture dress with matching heels and 93ct Bulgari Magnifica high jewelry. “The bespoke leather gown was crafted using an exact model of the star’s bust, taking full advantage of the Balmain atelier and the house’s artisanal tradition,” shared Balmain of the dress. Later, the red carpet saw another sheer number, but this time a fully bejeweled one courtesy of Dakota Johnson in Alessandro Michele’s Gucci. Attending the premiere of her film The Lost Daughter, the actor wore a cap-sleeved gown with crystal detailing and fringing, paired with the house’s rose gold chain-link sandals.
For the premiere of Spencer, one of the most highly-anticipated ones at the festival, actor Kristen Stewart ditched dresses and suits to opt for a co-ord from Chanel’s FW21 couture collection. Paired with white Christian Louboutin heels, the pastel mint-green ensemble featured a lace trim tank top and trousers with a skirt overlay adorned with a black bow. Earlier in the week, actor Penélope Cruz arrived for the premiere of her film Parallel in a Chanel dress that was some 300 hours in the making. Selected by Cruz from the house’s FW21 couture collection, the dress is made of black mikado with an ecru silk tulle petticoat embellished with petal flounces. “I fell in love with that dress when I saw it on the catwalk,” shared the actor with Vogue. “I love the entire haute couture collection, it was brilliant, but this one was my favorite look. This is a very important movie for me, so I needed a special dress for that.”

With Halsey’s upcoming film, Noura Sulaiman has become one of the first few Saudi designers to have their creations featured in a large-scale Hollywood production.

The luxury ready-to-wear designer’s dress can be seen on the official poster of the star’s highly-anticipated feature film. Titled If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power, the movie explores the themes of pregnancy and childbirth, marking award-winning singer Halsey’s debut as a scriptwriter and lead actor. Set to release at select cinemas on August 3, it also features music from her forthcoming album of the same name.

Sulaiman’s Moiré dress, from the designer’s debut collection, was selected for the feature film by LA-based celebrity stylist and image architect, Law Roach. “This dress has always been an extremely special piece for me because it represented that moment when I could share my baby’s arrival with the world,” said Sulaiman. “To have it selected by Law Roach and have it worn by Halsey, at a time she was pregnant, for her first-ever feature film which explores the theme of childbirth, is a real privilege.” She continued, “It is an honor to have a piece from my debut collection selected for this opportunity, and to be able to represent Saudi fashion on a global scale.”

The dress, crafted from ivory moiré fabric, is emblematic of Sulaiman’s affinity for blending classical, quintessential feminine cuts with artful, architectural details. Featuring a clean, A-line silhouette accentuated by an off-shoulder neckline and cascading Russian tulle sleeves, Sulaiman had initially designed the Moiré dress to wear to her own baby’s reception. However, due to popular demand, she decided to include the piece within her debut collection. The dress has been featured alongside the designs of international fashion heavyweights such as Vivienne Westwood within the movie.

Zendaya’s BET Awards Look Was a Pitch-Perfect Tribute to Beyoncé

Zendaya’s BET Awards Look Was a Pitch-Perfect Tribute to Beyoncé

Photo: AB+DM
The BET Awards in Los Angeles was packed with showstopping style moments. Leave it to Zendaya, however, to take the night’s fashion to the next level—with a little help from an archive Versace dress.
A look from the Italian house’s spring 2003 collection, Zendaya’s ethereal purple gown caught attention for more reasons than one. Seem familiar at all? That would be down to the fact the same dress—albeit with a shorter skirt—was also worn by Beyoncé for the 3rd Annual BET Awards all the way back in 2003, when the burgeoning solo star made one of her first post-Destiny’s Child appearances to perform her breakout hit, “Crazy in Love.”

The look came courtesy of Zendaya’s stylist and Hollywood’s favorite fashion guru, Law Roach, and was captured in motion through a series of stunning backstage images and clips shot by AB+DM. (The photographer duo, also known as Ahmad Barber and Donté Maurice, certainly had quite the night: They were also behind yesterday’s stunning portrait of a pregnant Cardi B.)
It also isn’t the first time in recent memory that Zendaya has used the red carpet as an opportunity to pay tribute to a personal style icon from decades past. Attending this year’s Oscars back in April, the actor and musician wore a bold yellow Valentino gown with a cut-out detail that harked back to a classic look worn by Cher all the way back in the early-’70s. The magic of Zendaya’s eye for fashion, though, is her ability to take a vintage-inspired look and make it feel more current than ever.
The final seal of approval came from Donatella Versace herself, who took to Instagram to share the image. “Zendaya! You looked just sensational last night,” the designer wrote in her caption. “I’ll never forget Beyoncé wearing this in 2003. A tough act to follow but you aced it effortlessly! You got me looking!” Whether worn by Queen B or Queen Z, it serves as the ultimate proof that a perfect Versace dress never goes out of style.
