Summer’s here, and with it, so is the Middle East’s scorching heat and blazing sunshine. As we all switch from our cozy layers to sundresses and shorts, the rising mercury also brings with it the perfect opportunity to invest in a few sartorial add-ons. And on top of the list this season is a great pair of sunnies.
If you’re willing to mix things up this summer but would rather stick with classic blacks and browns, there’s no going wrong with Off-White’s Dallas cut-out pilot-frames, or Miu Miu’s newest runway offering—the rimless sunglasses in soothing brown come with just the right dose of logomania drama. Want to up the stakes? Look no further than Dior’s bejeweled cat eye rims, or Celine’s rhinestone-studded ebony must-haves.
A little color goes a long way, and once you’ve decided to take the plunge, a great starting point is Bea Bongiasca and Linda Farrow’s collaborative creation, which stands out for its pop-hued detailing. If you’re ready to try something different without going overboard, opt for a simple shape, but in an unexpected shade. Our picks include Versace’s square-shaped lavender sunnies, Alexander McQueen’s powder blue piece, red rims from Oliver Peoples, and Karen Wazen’s retro ombré number.
For the maximalist, there’s more than enough on offer this summer. Look no further than Bottega Veneta’s yellow Unapologetic cat-eye sunglasses, made of metal and rubber, play dragon in Balenciaga’s fiery orange spiked sunglasses. There’s no time like the present to live your Barbiecore dreams, so if you’re thinking pink this summer, make sure to check out Givenchy’s bubblegum-hued Giv Cut sunnies, and Gucci’s rimless gold creation, complete with hot pink reflective Guccissima lenses.

True to the brand’s heritage, the limited-edition Precious frames boast a lightweight feel, spotlighting the beauty of minimalism and simplicity. The Precious frame Capella is exceptionally noteworthy, and gets its name from one of the brightest yellow stars in the galaxy, which is represented by the marquise cut yellow diamond. Fun fact: naturally occurring fancy intense yellow diamonds are extremely rare – only one exists among every 10,000 yellow diamonds—and Lindberg’s Precious frames have been crafted to highlight these gems with their hollow temple designs, which work well for both genders.
For the eyewear connoisseur, these frames, crafted from 18 Karat gold, platinum, buffalo horn and diamonds, stretch the limits of accessorizing by blurring the lines between style and comfort. Achieved with the help of the latest and most innovative technology, these pieces are the new gold standard for the future of eyewear. While minimalism reigns in the world of Lindberg, the brand’s expertise is anything but. Lindberg’s ethos is rooted in an uncompromising dedication to quality and attention to detail, offering a daring display of delicacy and lightness.

12 Pairs of Sunglasses That You’re Going To Want To Add to Your Summer Stash

12 Pairs of Sunglasses That You’re Going To Want To Add to Your Summer Stash

As the days get longer and muggier, there are few sartorial staples that one must consider investing in. A light scarf is always welcome, as are breezy hats and flip-flops, but if there’s one thing you absolutely can’t do without come summer, it’s a pair of sunglasses.
It’s safe to say that nothing tops the appeal of a classic black pair of sunnies, and if you’re in agreement, now is the perfect time to treat yourself to Illesteva’s fail-safe creation, which comes in a universally flattering shape with rose gold rims. But if you’re feeling experimental this year, why not give unconventional hues a try? For those who prefer to keep it low-key, Celine’s deep brown frames are a great starting point, along with Rimowa’s soft brown glasses and Linda Farrow’s gold aviators. Ready to go a tad bolder? Dive into the blue with Jacques Marie Mage’s square framed azure piece, add a buttery yellow Bottega Veneta pair to your accessories drawer, or get romantic—quite literally—with the rose tinted mask glasses over at Rick Owens.
A great way to spruce up your collection of sunglasses is by experimenting with intricate frames. Jimmy Choo’s hexagon pair come in a luxe shade of muted gold, while Chloé gives the simple square shape a dramatic spin by going oversized. Loewe’s distinct logo pops along the arms of its round-framed sunnies, while Alexander McQueen‘s come studded with the brand’s signature gilded skulls. Of course, we couldn’t end our roundup without a little something for the maximalists. Dolce & Gabbana’s summer must-have comes flanked with two crystal-studded leopards… need we say more?

9 Pairs of Standout Sunglasses That You Can’t Miss This Season

The fashion industry is constantly on the prowl for the next big thing, so it’s no surprise that attention shifts towards sunglasses when the sunshine peaks. With new trends being introduced every day, how will designers keep coming up with unique styles? Turns out, it doesn’t take much — just some creativity and maybe a little inspiration from the past.
Ray-Ban’s classic aviator style is timeless and shows up regularly on the runways, season-after-season, and designers recently offered updates of the eyewear staple in bold colors and maxi shapes. For others, oversized sunglasses have taken over from the once ubiquitous micro lens, with huge circular creations taking inspiration from the 1960s.
Red, both in clothing and eyewear, has made its way into the current zeitgeist. In fact, as it turns out, red is your fast-track to adding a futuristic pop to urban tailoring. And while many designers gravitated toward changing the color of the lens, others embraced classic black. Frames are the easiest to experiment with and white rectangular specs and retro cat-eye shapes have certainly found a lasting fan-base in the fashion community. And finally, eclectic types will love new surrealist designs by the likes of Schiaparelli and Gucci – go bold or go home!
