Cult-favorite footwear brand Aquazzura recently celebrated 10 years since its foundation with weekend-long festivities that did its vibrant designs justice. Dubbed La Dolce Vita Weekend, the soirée also marked the launch of Aquazzura’s new capsule collection, available exclusively on luxury retail giant Mytheresa.
The celebrations kicked off on June 17 at the Villa Astor in Sorrento, Italy, where against a backdrop of the stunning Amalfi coast, a stylish crowd of fashion VIPs showed up in support of Edgardo Osorio, founder and creative director of Aquazzura, and Michael Kliger, CEO of Mytheresa. The theme for the summer evening? A Slim Aarons-style garden party with live music from The Phly Boyz band, and decor bursting with life, which was complemented by the equally colorful ensembles worn by the guests.
The next day, attendees arrived at the majestic terrace of the Villa Astor for an exclusive dinner where the Amalfi sunset once again made for the ideal view. In attendance were Vogue Arabia editor-in-chief Manuel Arnaut, Shanina Shaik, Naty Abascal, Prince Philippos and Princess Nina of Greece, Princess Tatiana of Greece, Tommy and Dee Hilfiger, Racil Chalhoub, Cherine Magrabi, Leonie Hanne, Eugenia Silva, Nieves Álvarez, and more. After enjoying a meal of local favorites including Raviolo with Stracciata di Bufala and Amalfi lemon and Basilic cream, and lemon sorbet, guests moved to party on the cliffside overlooking the sea, bringing the weekend to a close.

“Being part Saudi Arabian myself, [the Red Sea International Film Festival] is very special for me, and it’s a very special trip. It’s very exciting to see history being made today,” a glowing Shanina Shaik revealed on the red carpet in Jeddah last night. For her evening out in the kingdom, the 30-year-old opted for a sparkling black Mônot gown with sheer draping. The look was completed with a sleek updo.

Draped in an elegant Zuhair Murad gown complete with mid-waist cut-outs and embellished detailing, Alessandra Ambrosio was a vision in white at the Red Sea International Film Festival. Having traveled to the Kingdom in the past, the Brazilian model revealed to Vogue Arabia that she was thrilled to be back in the region, especially for such a momentous occasion.

For Victoria’s Secret Angel Candice Swanepoel, one of the highlights of the Red Sea International Film Festival was the premiere of the musical Cyrano, starring Peter Dinklage and Haley Bennett. The South African model and philanthropist walked the red carpet in Jeddah in a less-is-more ivory gown, which came with a dramatically long trail. Her custom-made pick was also a Mônot creation.

Russian beauty Irina Shayk seemed to go the minimalistic route for her appearance at Jeddah’s debut film festival, posing for the cameras on the red carpet in an ebony gown with a boat neck and full sleeves. The surprise elements of her look were the gown’s plunging back, and Shayk’s beauty look, which stood out for her crimson lip color.

Bursting with energy on the red carpet, Portuguese model Sara Sampaio attended the festival in another Zuhair Murad ensemble. Her pick: an intricately beaded charcoal grey halter gown, which was complemented with a collection of glimmering diamond rings. Sampaio spent her evening cheering on friend Mohammed Al Turki, the Chairman of Red Sea International Film Festival. “I’m just really proud of him!” she told Vogue Arabia on the red carpet with a grin.

Step Inside Bulgari’s Star-Studded Magnifica Jewelry Collection Launch in Dubai

On December 6, Bulgari took over the Bulgari Yacht Club in Dubai to reveal the first look of its brand new Magnifica jewelry collection—its most precious ever to date—along with fresh new high-end watches. This time around, the Italian brand went bigger than ever before, launching a collection that consisted of a whopping 250 masterpieces, making it the biggest line-up it has ever brought to the Middle East.
Given the special occasion (which also honored 50 years of the UAE), it was only fitting for Bulgari’s momentous evening to have an equally monumental guest list. There to join Jean-Christophe Babin, Group CEO of Bulgari, and creative director Lucia Silvestri, were some of the region’s biggest names. While Lebanese actress Raya Abirached attended in a lime green Zuhair Murad gown, cinema icon Mona Zaki celebrated the new collection in a pastel blue ensemble also by the Murad, and Aseel Omran chose a black and gold look from the Lebanese couturier. All three ladies completed her looks for the gala dinner with stunning Bulgari jewelry pieces. Also on the guest list for the evening were Mai Omar, who opted for a silky green gown with her Bulgari jewels, Diala Makki wearing Yasmine Hawa, Karen Wazen (seen in a scarlet gown), DJ Tala Samman in a sunset-hued dress. Joining them were Rosemin Madhavji in Dolce & Gabbana and Miriam Abadi in Kaya Kollective.

Making the most of Dubai’s pleasant winter evenings, Bulgari’s Magnifica jewelry launch took place under an open night sky, with a pristine Rome-inspired facade lit up with projections as a backdrop. Guests sat at round tables laden with fresh blooms, enjoying a decadent meal as models walked the runway wearing the brand’s most exquisite new jewelry creations, each of which took thousands of hours and only the most impeccable craftsmanship, to come to life. The evening came to a close with a special address from Babin. “High jewelry is an emotion, not just about carats,” he shared with the attendees, and one look at the Magnifica collection is all it takes for one to agree. Catch up on the best celebrity snapshots from the night that was below.
