Dior has launched the newest iteration of its iconic timepiece, La D My Dior designed by Victoire de Castellane. This latest creation of the artistic director of Dior Joaillerie is a continuation of the coveted La D de Dior which was originally launched in 2003. Instantly recognizable and highly sought after, the La D de Dior is an exquisite amalgamation of femininity, combining materials, colors, and dimensions.

For the current season, Dior has given this desirable model an elegant new version in the La D My Dior. Paying homage to the history of the house, the timepieces feature the signature cannage motif. The distinctive pattern first appeared at the Avenue Montaigne during the 1947 New Look fashion show where it adorned the Napoleon III chairs used by guests. Today, the cannage is a characteristic trait of the House of Dior inspiring multiple collections over the years.

The strap is defined by Dior as a “ribbon that tells the time,” and features hand-engraved geometric lines that continue to the dial in a captivating interplay of shapes and ornamentation. No matter which design buyers opt for – one is set with brilliant diamonds while the other showcases delicate drawings reflecting the delicacy of a strip of silk – the case on these watches is a testimony to the skill of Dior’s master watchmakers.

The watches are available in gold or silver plated steel and come in two different sizes – 19mm and 25mm.

Dior never fails to dazzle the world with its extraordinary mastery. And this season, the French luxury fashion house has outdone itself with a high jewelry collection that demands to be admired.
Consisting of 137 remarkable pieces that fit as perfectly as an haute couture gown, Dior’s new jewelry line, named Dior Print, was inspired by the creative director of Dior Joaillerie Victoire de Castellane’s desire to “draw prints on jewelry”. So, the pieces feature liberty prints, checks, stripes and tie-dye motifs, all of which appear not on clothes, but on necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and more.

The journey to get here was anything but easy—Victoire de Castellane spent a great deal of time researching on how to make one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces, studying lace in Dior Dior Dior in 2018, textile dye effects in Tie & Dior in 2020, and braids in Galons Dior in January 2022. And the hard work paid off—Dior’s latest offerings, seen in the pages of Vogue Arabia on Saudi Arabian actress Aseel, jump off the page with their sharp cuts and undeniable charm. Think structured earrings, ribbon-like chokers, and stunning floral rings. The Dior Print collection also boasts a dreamy range of drop earrings, pendants and cufflinks, proving that the fashion house has something to offer to just about everyone.

Look closer, and there’s missing the impeccable craftsmanship that has gone into each Dior Print creation. To make the fabric motifs work on jewelry’s intrictae scale, Dior’s jewelers reworked and adjusted two main factors—the type of setting, and the density of the multicolored gems used in each piece. “When ribbons undulate, the print must follow,” Victoire de Castellane explained. “As with couture, it’s a process that requires a series of adjustments. The work is all the more precise due to the settings’ curved surfaces, which distort prints and lines.” Bringing together a melange of precious stones, from diamonds and Colombian emeralds, to Madagascar sapphires and Mozambique rubies, this jewelry line is one for the books.

Cara Delevingne is the star of Dior Jewellery’s latest campaign for its new Gem Dior collection. Designed by Victoire de Castellane, Gem Dior 2021 marks the first time for the creative director to create a collection of watches and jewelry together. The line is made up of seven watches and 11 pieces of jewelry featuring various gemstones and minerals in an abstract form. Delevingne, who is the face of Dior Jewellery, as well as its muse, models the stunning new pieces against clean, gem-toned backdrops.

In an amalgamation of nature and couture, the collection is inspired by natural minerals and the manner in which Christian Dior would pin fabric swatches for his haute couture creations on sheets of paper. The result? Pieces in yellow, rose, and white gold punctuated with malachite, lapis lazuli, carnelian, pink opal, and tiger’s eye in asymmetrical shapes. “I wanted to design a collection of watches and jewelry that wasn’t figurative,” shares de Castellane. “The spirit of this collection is modern, it’s a style I would describe as abstract organic, an organized commotion that proved a true technical challenge for our ateliers.”

The design signature of the collection is stacked, offset links of varying lengths featuring on claspless watches, bracelets, rings, and earrings. Some links are swapped with ones adorned with brilliant diamonds while others are set with vibrant gemstones and minerals. All of the seven watches have octagonal faces reflecting the natural shape of rough tourmaline, while the dials are also set with a gemstone or mineral, including white mother-of-pearl, onyx, lapis lazuli or malachite.

The maison has also released a film showcasing the exceptional craftsmanship behind the Gem Dior collection. The craftsmen can be seen bringing the delicate gouaches created by the studio to life by shaping the metals before meticulously placing the dazzling gemstones on them.
