Mere days after being announced as the very first Indian ambassador of Louis Vuitton, Deepika Padukone sat front row alongside Miranda Kerr and Emma Roberts at the French fashion house’s cruise 2023 show in San Diego, California. Dressed in a blue and yellow striped piece and slouchy black statement bomber, the Bollywood superstar made a strong case for elevated cool girl style, topping off her look with a dewy beauty look, disheveled top knot, knee-high boots and brown Louis Vuitton bag. If you haven’t been following Deepika Padukone’s style trajectory over the years, however, it’s important to note that the actor has been making waves with her sartorial picks for over a decade now. Having made her film debut back in 2007 with blockbuster Om Shanti Om, Padukone has slowly and steadily risen to become one of the industry’s biggest names on both, the silver screen and the red carpet. With help from stylist and trusted friend Shaleena Nathani, the actor manages to bring something new to the table each time she steps out.
Given her Indian roots, it comes as no surprise that Padukone often uses key events to champion her favorite local designers. Sabyasachi Mukherjee‘s jewel-toned saris are an all-time favorite, as are the intricately embellished creations of designer duo Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. Arab couturiers are another top pick in Padukone’s book. Over the years, the 36-year-old has been spotted in some of the region’s most-loved labels, walking the Cannes Film Festival red carpet in Ashi Studio‘s ruffled fuchsia number, attending 2021’s Red Sea Film Festival in Jeddah dressed in a coral creation by Dubai-based label Michael Cinco, and even donning a sparkling red Zuhair Murad gown at her wedding reception back in 2018.
From the international set, it turns out that Deepika Padukone’s latest Louis Vuitton look isn’t the only one that’s topped trending charts.
