Karen Wazen, Mahira Abdelaziz, and More: The Best Dressed Women at Vogue Arabia’s September Issue Success Party

When Vogue Arabia throws a party, you can expect the guest list to be brimming with stars—and the dress code to be something very special. This week, to celebrate the immense success of the magazine’s September 2022 issue, guests went all-out with their red carpet looks, many of which celebrated Arab designers. And by the looks of it, each ensemble was more exciting than the next. Below, check out some of the most exciting outfits spotted at the special soireé.
Rym Saidi and Deema Al Asadi go for traffic-stopping reds
Just like the main color of the venue—Dubai’s L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon—red seemed to be the winning color of the evening among Vogue Arabia’s guests. While Tunisian model Rym Saidi walked in wearing a risqué strapless number by Azzi & Osta, Deema Al Asadi sparkled in a sequined Georges Hobeika number that came with a feather-trimmed skirt, and was styled with Amina Muaddi heels and a cherry red Sandra J handbag.

OTT silhouettes for Nadine Kanso and Hadia Ghalib
What’s a party without a little drama? Last night, both Nadine Kanso and Hadia Ghalib played with exaggerated silhouettes to make a statement. Ghalib opted for a feminine pink Rami Al Ali number with oversized bows on the sleeves, and Nadine Kanso danced the night away in a black off-shoulder blouse with dramatic ruffles, which she paired with a vermilion skirt by Lebanon’s Maison Rabih Kayrouz. Kanso completed her look with a blue clutch from SOA, and pieces from her own jewelry line, Bil Arabi by Nadine Kanso.

Mahira Abdelaziz and Nadya Hasan came drenched in gemstones
When in doubt, make bling your thing. Among the first guests to join in the celebrations last night was Emirati actor Mahira Abdelaziz, who opted for a playful black dress accentuated with panels of shimmering rhinestones, styled with a fully embellished Prada handbag. Also joining the sparkle bandwagon last evening was Nadya Hasan, who was unmissable in a body-skimming Hamda Al Fahim cocktail dress that seemed to be inspired by the night sky. Both AbdelAziz and Hasan also stood out for their unconventional beauty looks, with the former rocking a graphic cat eye, and the latter decking out her sleek hairdo with layers of rhinestones.

Neutral tones won Karen Wazen, Enjy Kiwan and Ameni Esseibi’s vote
Nothing says elegance quite like shades of black, and Karen Wazen knows it. Accompanied by sister (and mom-to-be!) Andrea Wazen, the Lebanese star celebrated the September issue in an earthy brown Lama Jouni dress which was topped off with an oversized black jacket, and styled with Karen Wazen sunglasses and Andrea Wazen heels. Enjy Kiwan and Ameni Esseibi both stood out for picking unconventional ebony gowns, with the former striking a pose in a slinky seashell-detailed Renwa gown, and the latter glowing in a gold-dusted Dima Ayad maxi.

It’s that time of the year again, when the streets of the Big Four are taken over by the Arab world’s It girls, all dressed to the nines. As fashion week kicked off in Milan, Rym Saidi, Karen Wazen, Deema Al Asadi, and more were spotted dashing between shows in inspiring looks.
For the Fendi show on Day 1, Wazen opted for a modest monochrome outfit from the Italian fashion house in a fresh pastel pink shade. The three-piece satin ensemble featured a lapel collar shirt cinched at the waist with a double-F belt, topped with a collarless cropped blazer and wide-legged pants. Adding a bit of logomania to her look, the Lebanese entrepreneur styled the separates with gold O’lock earrings, and a pink Fendigraphy bag with the brand name spelled out in big gold letters at its base.
The arm candy was also worn by Saidi, who attended the show in a monochrome look as well. In contrast to Karen Wazen, however, the Tunisian model chose to make statement outerwear the hero of her outfit, and wore a long white shearling coat with black detailing on top of a white bralette and matching loose-fitted trousers. Saidi wore her hair parted down the middle and slicked back in a braid to let her disc-shaped O’lock earrings stand out. Joining her at the show was also Deema Al Asadi, who walked in wearing a patterned black and white dress, thigh-high black boots, and the very same statement Fendi bag, this time in black.
Other shows at Milan Fashion Week that saw a host of Arab’s best dressed in attendance were Alberta Ferretti and Roberto Cavalli. At the former’s showcase, Miryam Labiad had a sultry moment in body-hugging black separates that came with edgy cut-outs, while Alice Abdelaziz proved that head-to-toe animal print is always a good idea, making an appearance in luxe snakeskin-print separates. Abla Sofy seemed to have the same idea in mind while checking out the latest Cavalli collection, and topped off her grey patterned dress with a matching handbag and a cool graphic eye makeup look. And then there was Diala Makki, who made a strong case for the Little White Dress, a winner no matter what the occasion.
