Kate Middleton and Prince William stepped in for Queen Elizabeth II at a recent garden party at Buckingham Palace, and her ensemble reminds us of another young aristocratic Brit: Eloise Bridgerton. On May 25, the Duchess of Cambridge rewore a custom dress made by her private dressmaker, featuring buttons, a high neck, and long sleeves that would work perfectly in Regency-era London. The Duchess accessorized the garment, which she previously wore in March 2019, with a floral fascinator, plain heels, a clutch purse, and matching earrings, all in mint green.
This isn’t the first time Middleton has worn a preloved item to a garden party this month. In keeping with her dedication to sustainable fashion, she recently stepped out in a coral dress accessorized with a vintage clutch on May 19.

While Kate Middleton is certainly not seeking a suitor—she has been married to Prince William since 2011—you cannot say that she does not look ready to promenade in this look.
All this to say, the pale pastel looks great on brunette Middleton, which might be why the shade is also a favorite of the most sarcastic Bridgerton daughter. To compare, here is Eloise in mint green at a garden party in season two of the Netflix series.

Sarah Jessica Parker, now starring in Neil Simon’s Plaza Suite on Broadway with her husband, Matthew Broderick, arrived at opening night looking like a cross between a tiara and a ballerina, or even the new lead on Bridgerton.
On Monday, March 28, she walked the red carpet at the Hudson Theatre in a Prabal Gurung gown and silver heels from her own shoe collection. Her hair in an oversized bun, she looked the way I imagine Cinderella’s fairy godmother might. She had teased the look earlier in the evening on Instagram, writing, “Just wait until you see the front. No words right now. I’m sure they’ll come later. See you in Suite 719. X, SJ” alongside a picture of her outfit from behind.

The full ensemble is nothing short of gorgeous.

“A New York moment. A New York icon in a New York Pink. Tonight with the one and only @sarahjessicaparker Love you so much, SJP. Grateful for this moment, for you and for our friendship. Break a leg. I cannot wait for @plazasuitebway tonight. XPG,” the designer posted on Instagram.

The bottom layer of the dress is silk crepe-back satin, per Vogue. Gurung told the publication, “It’s not a bright pink, it’s almost like it has a light film of dust on it.” The outer layer is transparent silk tulle hand-embroidered with crystals, sequins, and beads. “There’s something very old-school about it, like it’s from a classic Avedon photograph,” Gurung said of the completed look. “It’s glamorous, but it’s still graceful.”

The play, a comedy, is divided into three acts, each following a different couple staying, at a different time, in the same hotel suite. Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick play the couples throughout, and the Sex and the City star and fashion icon is getting some excellent reviews. “Parker ultimately walks away with the show,” wrote The Hollywood Reporter. “Parker is giving the most, carrying the comedy on her narrow shoulders,” says The Guardian.
