Blake Lively’s Maternity Style Hack May Be the Most Creative Thing You’ll See All Week

Since announcing her pregnancy in September 2022, Blake Lively has been sharing parts of her journey on Instagram, clever maternity style tips included. Taking to the social media platform this week, the actor, who is expecting her fourth child with husband Ryan Reynolds, offered up an ingenious wardrobe hack for a problem most pregnant women can relate with.

The 35-year-old shared a picture of herself wearing a long dress, which, in fact, was a black skirt paired with a polka-dotted number unbuttoned at the front to frame her baby bump. With both pieces serving necessary functions, Lively spared herself a wardrobe mishap while making a strong case for getting the most out of your existing wardrobe even with a baby bump. “When the back of your skirt won’t zip and the front of your dress won’t button, wear both,” Lively captioned the photo. “Who says two wrongs don’t make a right??” The Gossip Girl star completed the outfit with a pearl necklace and coral heels.

The actor offered another glimpse into her pregnancy last week when she shared two before and after pictures side by side, in which she is posing next to her trainer Don Saladino during a workout. “Been doing @donsaladino’s workout program for months now. Something isn’t working,” she joked. In November, Reynolds told Entertainment Tonight in an interview that their three daughters are “ready” to have a new sibling. “I’m very excited,” he said. “We’d have to be. You know, you’d have to be a moron to do this four times if you didn’t like it. It’s gonna be nuts, but we’re very excited.”

Blake Lively Wore a Relaxed Little Black Dress to Kick Off Her Birthday Celebrations at Disneyland

Blake Lively Wore a Relaxed Little Black Dress to Kick Off Her Birthday Celebrations at Disneyland

Blake Lively’s birthday isn’t for nine more days, but she’s gonna celebrate whenever she wants to.
The actor shared photos from an early birthday celebration at Disneyland in Anaheim, California, on August 15, alongside her older sister Robin Lively. The Age of Adeline star turns 35 on August 25.
“Find me a happier place on earth to start my birthday celebrations early,” Blake captioned the Instagram carousel of Disney pics. “I’ll wait.”

The Lively sisters took in all the must-see Disney sights, apparently even making their way to Disneyland’s park next door, California Adventure Park. Ever generous, Blake obliged fans including Princess Jasmine, Jessie from Toy Story 2, and a few ungrateful Stormtroopers with photos.
“Imagine being a Disney princess and having to stay in character when the beautiful perfect Blake Lively stands next to you for a picture,” mused one of Lively’s followers in her comments section. “I love the type of millennial that you are that actually uses the filters that come on the Instagram app,” added another with the millennial giveaway: the cry-laughing emoji.

Lively kept her filters turned up and her look low-key, opting for a simple, long-sleeve black shirtdress that she styled with black sneakers and white ankle socks. She wore her hair in her natural waves, and opted for a no-makeup makeup look.
It’s hard to beat a Disney birthday, but Lively still has time to outdo herself. Her sister Robin commented, “Happy birthday month sweet sister,” on the post, leading us to believe that the Lively-Reynolds family goes hard for a full 30 days (or in her case, 31). Your move, Ryan Reynolds.

Blake Lively Dives Into Her Life in Looks—From Gossip Girl to the Met Gala

Blake Lively Dives Into Her Life in Looks—From Gossip Girl to the Met Gala

“I don’t work with a stylist, I never have,” Blake Lively says in her new Life in Looks video. Dressing herself amid a chaotic schedule is a feat, especially considering the star has dominated the red carpet at countless movie premieres, galas, and awards shows. Proving she has a distinctive personal style that’s all her own, the actor sat down with Vogue to revisit some of her best looks over the years, as well as her favorite fashion moments on-screen.
Lively’s trip down fashion memory lane begins back in 2005, when she nabbed her first role at 16 in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. “These shoes are very 2004,” she says of her character’s sporty look, sneakers included. She also reminisced on one of her favorite ensembles worn in Gossip Girl: the yellow, ruffled Ralph Lauren dress her character, Serena, wore during the season one finale. “This dress is one of the most critical fashion moments in Gossip Girl,” says Lively. “Eric Daman, our costume designer, was so spectacular and inventive. He took the idea of characters really having a ‘look’ to the next level.”
Lively also reflected on some of her standout off-screen moments. Take the very first time she hit a red carpet in 2005 at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards. The young starlet wore low-rise ripped Abercrombie jeans, a Y2K babydoll top, Aldo heels, and bright pink belt. “I was still in high school,” Lively remembers. “The teal T-shirt is something my mom found at Forever 21.”
Since then, her fashion game has elevated. One of her most glamorous moments came in 2014, when she attended the Cannes Film Festival for the first time in a custom Gucci gown. Her favorite part was the Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. “I love jewelry, it’s such an important part of styling,” says Lively, who admired the diamond necklace’s simplicity. “It’s easy to say simplicity when you’re dripping in 500 carats of diamonds.”

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Life in Looks video if Lively didn’t reflect on some of her favorite Vogue covers and Met Gala looks, too. Her favorite Met look of all time? The ornate Versace design she wore to 2018’s Heavenly Bodies (it’s a fan favorite, too). “I get very involved in the design of the dress—I don’t know if it’s because I’m a Virgo, or if I need a life,” she jokes, adding that it was her idea to add an 8 foot-long train. Just this past week, Lively hit the 2022 Met Gala carpet in another Versace creation that was inspired by the Statue of Liberty. “Instead of looking at Gilded Age fashion, I wanted to look at architecture,” says Lively. “New York has been a critical part of who I am… so I thought, I would love to arrive in a copper dress and have it patina as I ascend the red carpet. Instead of me performing, I wanted the dress to perform.”

The 2022 Met Gala, otherwise known as the First Monday in May, is back once again! After being canceled in 2020 and held in September last year, the glitzy event returned to its usual time slot this year. Held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the event saw A-list celebrities descend upon the red carpet in celebration of the museum’s new exhibition, “In America: An Anthology of Fashion,” which will serve as an exploration of American fashion. The display was presented across 13 of the American period rooms in the museum, and featured design works from Bill Blass, Brooks Brothers, Lloyd Kiva New, and more.
On the red carpet, meanwhile, well-clad stars did their best to take on the Gilded Glamour, White Tie dress code, where they were encouraged to approach late 19th-century clothing through a modern lens. Given the step and repeat is one of the most-photographed in the world, one could expect the many actors, models, singers, and designers in attendance to bring their fashion A-game to the Met Gala. After all, it has a long history of creating memorable outfits that are seen around the globe—and this year was certainly no different.
As for who was on the guest list this times? The official co-chairs this year included Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Regina King, and Lin-Manuel Miranda, and attendees included Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry, Kate Moss, and many more.

Spring has officially sprung. With temperatures rising, the color of our wardrobes must adjust accordingly. Take note from Blake Lively, who’s a master of wearing the brightest shades with ease. Her latest look is as joy-inducing as it is undeniably chic.
Spotted: in New York City. The 34-year-old actor – who will act as co-chair of the upcoming Met Gala – channelled a ’70s disco vibe with boardroom flair. The striking ensemble comprised a cut-out off-the-shoulder Lycra top underneath a tangerine wool-blend suit, and a leather brass buckle belt, all of which were by Sergio Hudson. Blake accessorized with a cream and ochre Louis Vuitton Capucines bag and a distinctive pair of nude Christian Louboutin T-bar heels.

Over the weekend, the original Gossip Girl actor attended Gigi Hadid’s star-studded birthday bash in another uplifting magenta minidress by Sergio Hudson, Christian Louboutin pumps, and a quilted patent leather Chanel clutch. Be bold like Lively and throw together the peppiest of colours to lift the spirits this season.

Blake Lively Is a Met Gala 2022 Co-Chair! Here Are Her Best Met Looks Over the Years

Blake Lively Is a Met Gala 2022 Co-Chair! Here Are Her Best Met Looks Over the Years

Photo: Instagram.com
Compared to your typical movie premieres or awards ceremonies, the annual Met Gala encourages more of a dramatic, over-the-top dress code. No classic gowns allowed! It didn’t earn its nickname as the Superbowl of Fashion for nothing. And someone who’s always understood that sentiment? Blake Lively. Over the years, the stylish actor has nailed statement dressing on the step and repeat, and Vogue is looking back on all of her best Met Gala looks.
As someone who’s regularly attended the Met Gala since 2008, Lively is of course no stranger to the star-studded event. This year, she is also serving as one of the gala’s official co-chairs, alongside husband Ryan Reynolds and actors Regina King and Lin-Manuel Miranda—meaning she will likely deliver yet another stellar ensemble on the paparazzi-filled carpet. Over the years, Lively has cultivated a few Met Gala signatures. She favors gowns that have a high-dose of glamour, often finished with long, dramatic trains. Just take her last appearance in 2018, when she wore an ornate Versace look. The bodice took over 600 hours to bead, and the flowing train was so large that she had to take a party bus to the venue.
Other highlights from Lively include in 2017, when she wore a golden Versace number with a feathered, electric-blue train. In 2016, she wowed in Burberry’s strapless pink gown, the back of her cape-train embroidered with pretty florals. There’s also been many memorable style moments with her husband in tow. In 2014, for instance, they both looked the part of an Old Hollywood duo in Gucci—Reynolds in a sleek tuxedo and Lively in a blush-pink, figure-hugging gown with elegant draping. There’s no doubt that Lively will yet again come dressed to impress at this year’s Met Gala on May 2nd. Stay tuned!

When it comes to couture, most celebrities play it safe. Wearing fashion’s highest artform can be daunting, and the desire to stay true to a designer’s vision often hinders experimentation. Thankfully, stars like Blake Lively think outside the box. At the New York premiere of husband Ryan Reynolds’ new sci-fi drama, The Adam Project, Lively arrived in a dazzling mix of high-end and accessible fashion. Dipping into the archives to unearth a rainbow gown from Atelier Versace, Lively brought back the spring 2019 collection, one of Donatella’s most festive in recent memory. A mix of pastel shades—lavender, periwinkle, pink, and baby blue—with a thigh-baring slit, her look was a romantic take on Versace’s trademark sexiness.
Photo: Getty
Most of the couture worn at premieres or events is styled to match what is presented on the runway, but having worn more than her share of sultry Atelier Versace creations, Lively decided to have fun with things. Throwing on a long, light-wash jean jacket, Chanel’s hot pink flap clutch, and Gucci’s rhinestone-embellished Mallory sandals, she utilized multiple labels. Lively, who doesn’t rely on a stylist and isn’t boxed in by a brand contract, is free to mix and match labels in a way that feels true to her personality and as she posed in her pastel finery for the photographers gathered outside Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall she seemed in her element.
Photo: Getty
Though she removed her outerwear to walk the step and repeat with Reynolds, the addition of the casual staple is what made Lively’s outfit a standout. A simple way to take ultra-luxury pieces off their pedestal and bring them into the real world, the jean jacket added nonchalance to the look and an easy-to-replicate style lesson. You might not have a piece of Versace couture hanging at the back of your closet, but odds are there’s some denim there waiting to be incorporated into your evening wear.
