Last night, Riyadh lit up for one of its biggest celebrations of the year, the 2022 edition of the Joy Awards, which were hosted as part of the entertainment events of the Riyadh season 2021. Held under the tutelage of Turki Al Sheikh, the Royal Court and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Entertainment, the special night celebrated the work of the Arab world’s biggest stars in the fields of acting, artistic works and music, and was attended by a series of noteworthy celebrities from the region. The red carpet saw several public figures, including Nancy Ajram, Nelly Karim, Tara Ahlam, Nadine Nassib Njeim, Assala, Wafaa Al Kilani, Donia Samir Ghanem, Amina Khalil, and Dina El-Sherbiny, among many others. And it comes as no surprise that the stars went all-out with their attire for the evening.
Among the best dressed celebrities at the 2022 Joy Awards was Lebanese musician Nancy Ajram, who not only performed on stage, but also won the award for best song for her track ‘Salamat’. The much-loved music mogul attended the event in a sparkling gold gown by Alexandre Vauthier, which is a must-see for anyone who loves statement-making ensembles. Check it out below.

Nancy Ajram complemented her figure-hugging gold gown with earthy makeup
If you follow Nancy Ajram on social media, you may already know that the singer loves wrap-around silhouettes. After being seen in a draped ivory dress this January, and a figure-hugging red jumpsuit back in December 2021, Ajram walked out in Riyadh last night in a body-hugging gold maxi gown by Alexandre Vauthier that cinched in at the middle in and created elegant drapes down the front. The musician’s gown also came with long sleeves and a plunging neckline for added drama.

To complete her Joy Awards look, Ajram paired the sparkling gown with elegant strappy gold heels, and went with a beauty look she can’t seem to get enough of—perfectly bronzed out skin, a soft brown smoky eye, and creamy caramel lips. Tousled honey waves and a midnight manicure finished her look. As a final touch, the star added on a pair of chunky gold earrings before stepping out in Saudi Arabia.

If you’re planning a big soireé this month, a gilded gown like Nancy Ajram’s is one you can’t go wrong with. Not only will it keep you warm, it’s also bound to earn you lots of compliments.

Egyptian actor Youssra caused quite the stir on social media yesterday, announcing the arrival of a brand new show. Titled Kalam Fi Lhob (translating to ‘talk about love’), the new series will debut on January 31 on MBC 1, was written by Hala Khalil, and produced by El Adl Group.
To share the big news about the fresh series—which also stars Ghada Adel, Mai Kassab, Nour Mahmoud and Nabil Nour El Deen—Youssra posted a mysterious teaser on her Instagram page, in which she shared some hints about Kalam Fi Lhob while she played the piano. The clip saw the iconic star dressed in a striking ensemble: a scarlet red carpet-ready gown by Iraqi haute couture designer Zeena Zaki. Take a closer look below.

Youssra styled her red gown with diamond jewelry
To keep with the romantic theme of her upcoming show, Youssra opted for a blood red Zeena Zaki gown that came with elegant detailing. Along with a trail, the gown also featured an off-shoulder neckline that drew attention to her décolletage, and cinched in at the waist for added structure. The most dramatic element from Youssra’s look, however, were her gloves. The actor paired her scarlet maxi with matching gloves that seemed to extend straight out from her shoulders. To top it up, Youssra complemented her cherry red gown with sparkling diamond jewelry from The House of Yessayan. Her picks: waterfall earrings, a matching choker necklace, and for the final touch, a diamond bracelet and statement ring.

No red carpet-worthy look is complete without the right makeup, and to elevate her look, Youssra went the classic route with her beauty look. The star smiled for the camera sporting elegant blonde curls, a bold red lip color, and winged liner complemented by lush lashes. The overall look was one that wouldn’t look out of place at a star-studded movie premiere.

Mona Zaki to Dorra Zarrouk: The most beautiful gold gowns from Vogue’s Ball of Arabia 2021

Mona Zaki to Dorra Zarrouk: The most beautiful gold gowns from Vogue’s Ball of Arabia 2021

Last night, Vogue Arabia brought together a selection of local and international stars, influencers, designers and royalty to celebrate 50 years of the United Arab Emirates at the second edition of the Ball of Arabia. Held at Raffles The Palm Dubai and presented by Level Shoes and Audi Middle East, the gala dinner wasn’t like any of its kind. Co-chaired by Ingie Chalhoub, Huda and Mona Kattan, Mona Zaki and Zuhair Murad, the once-in-a-lifetime celebration highlighted the very best of the region with a series of cultural experiences curated by the General Women’s Union, and also paid homage to the nation with an all-gold dress code.
Naturally, Vogue Arabia’s line up of guests joined in the festivities in a series of show-stopping gilded ensembles. While Huda Kattan chose a strapless Michael Cinco number, sister Mona Kattan posed for cameras in a full-sleeved Zuhair Murad creation dotted with pink and green jewels, and Ingie Chalhoub designed a champagne gold gown for the evening out. On-screen icon Mona Zaki also went with Zuhair Murad for the evening, picking a caped embellished gown with a risqué slit, which she later switched for a shorter, party-ready gold outfit with playful cut-outs. Another star who changed their look during the celebration was Dorra Zarrouk. The Tunisian actress walked in dressed in an armor-like gilded creation, and later slipped into an elegant off-shoulder gown by Géyanna Youness Haute Couture.

Never one to shy away from high-shine glamour, Ball of Arabia’s host, Jessica Kahawaty was among the first stars to arrive at the venue. Her pick: another Zuhair Murad, doused in sequin work and topped off with a full-length cape. Then there was Rym Saidi, who walked in wearing pleated gold Rami Al Ali maxi. “Gold is the most beautiful, luxurious color,” she revealed to Vogue Arabia while describing her look for the evening. “It’s almost Christmas, the end of the year, so tonight is a great occasion to wear gold.”
One of the most noteworthy gold ensembles from the evening came via former cover star Rawdah, who had her golden moment in a sparkling abaya by Tina Steffenakk Hermansen, complete with matching gloves. To check out more must-see celebrity looks in gold from the evening, start scrolling.
